Hey, since you're so East Coast Cool and all, I would think you've seen the Figgs any number of times?

  3. I have to confess, I'd never even heard of them until now- their tour calendar only listed one show in NYC, and a couple in NJ and on "the Island". These days, I don't get to as many concerts as I'd like- I like to see Mary Courtney (the one who sang the duet with Larry Kirwan) as often as I can, I get to see Black 47 a couple of times a year...

Last major concert I saw was Robyn Hitchcock at my haunt in Brooklyn.

  4. well, get thee hence, ya bastard!

I know they are more of a Jersey band, but they normally play the burg quite often. I think they are working toward a new release, but if they come round, you need to see them. All the best aspects of Costello, the Kinks, the Who, and the Ramones, plus they are good guys.

I once saw them play, WAY hungover, for me and four other people in a bar in Milwaukee, and still kicked more ass than most other bands.

They are my third favorite band to see live, behind the Mekons, and Black 47.
