Von's bestie Jonboy Langford has a new album out, on Bloodshot records. Worth every penny, as is the custom, and is also on eMusic for the budget-minded.
He often plays with Deano Schlabowske, a Milwaukee expatriate who also plays in the Waco Brothers and Dollar Store, so they come by Milwaukee frequently (although no Milwaukee dates shown on tour scheddy yet), A few years back, he put together a performance art piece called The Executioner's Last Songs, and it was premiered at Alverno college. OF COURSE we went, and OF COURSE it was awesome. Covered his music from the Mekons up through the present, plus Sally Timms!
So anyway, here's a song from one of his solo albums, just for a change from the constant barrage of Mekons:
Note the hardest-working guitar on the hardest working man in the music biz.
