The First Chill Of Winter

Boo Hewerdine and Darden Smith, from the sublime disc Evidence. Don't bother looking for youtubery, just go buy the frickin disc. Wilco wishes they could have done this.

I am the only one I know of who has ever heard of this album.

I believe, I believe, I just felt the first chill of winter

Was it me, was it you who let the cold in here?

Somebody pull down the window, somebody pull down the shade
There's a cold wind blowin' it's got me knowin'
The first frost is headed this way

I believe, I believe, I just felt the first chill of winter

Somebody pull down the window, somebody pull down the shade
There's a cold wind blowin' it's got me knowin'
The first frost is headed this way

Show me, show which way the wind blows
Tell me tell me how you know

I believe.

  1. I do quite like Smith's Deep Fantastic Blue. I haven't heard Evidence, though - I'll look for it.

  4. I looked as well, hoping to hear a sample, but noooooo! Nooooo samples! And, apparently it can only be purchased from "Dave" in Florida, but he has a good sales record...

You made me curious with the Wilco comment.

  5. Very cool - I'm going to check this out. You always give such sound musical advice. (yes, cornyness totally intended...)
