Restraint

While reviewing an online magazine earlier today I came across an adoption piece written by a youth pastor and his wife. It was mostly unicorns and rainbows fluff about their adoption experience with an orphanage in Ethiopia. OK, fine. Whatever. Nothing to see here. Good stuff.

However, near the end of the diatribe the wife wrote about being unable to conceive any more of their own children. She finished with, "Adoption was g-d's plan for our family." I wanted to leave in comments, "No adoption resulted from biological constraints. g-d is a lie that you believe because it allows you to feel in control without taking any accountability for your own destiny."

I did not. I gave myself a point and went on my merry way.
