  3. Wow, that's pretty cool. When we left the theater, people were pretty much speechless. One lady in front of me remarked to her husband that she'd never been to a movie before where people clapped.

Have you seen the movie yet, BP? It's really something. Not surprising at all, but still -- it really grabs hold of you and makes you feel ashamed!

  4. yep, we saw it on opening night. The last time I saw a movie where people applauded was...Fahrenheit 911.

I particularly like the way he used the countries most reviled among wingnuts, France and Cuba, to show how other countries do something better than the US.

We're not going to make much headway on any number of issues until America loses this innate idea of exceptionalism, of manifest destiny; that we are the best at everything, have the best OF everything.

When our health care rates below every other industrialized country, having 72" plasma screens counts for bupkus.

  7. People applauded at Transformers. I did not. I weakly slapped my thigh, though I did cheer at some parts.

    I'll go see this soon.

  11. Hey, thanks Jen-Jen.

    Shhhheeesh.

I know this may not be the well-traveled mega-blog frequented by BlueGrrl and Windy Mannion like yours is, but it's home and I can take my shoes off here.

    Thus, the R rating.

Get offa my lawn, you kids.

  12. Windy Mannion? Oh... I get it. It took me a sec. I thought maybe it was as potentially tawdry as it potentially sounded. :)

And when is Summerfest over? Hmmmm? I think being absent from ones blog for this long requires a note from ones mother.

You know, that whale detonation video caused me evil dreams. :(
