No they're not. They'll be the first to tell you they're shite. Then, after they've swindled a beer from you , they'll tell you that all pop and rock music is shite.

Buying another round will let you know that because art and music are shite, it doesn't matter if you're any good at it.
After one more round, we learn that passion is what counts.
Another round, you are told that beer counts too. And liquor. Alcohol in all its many blessed forms.
At this point, you may or may not be caught up in aa ritual of offering libations to the four corners. It should be noted that some Mekons vehemently protest the dispersal of blessed alcohol in this manner, so even if the ritual starts, other mekons may intervene.
At this point, you will need to buy drinks for everybody to cool things down.
They are NOT at summerfest, as it occurs too bloody early for them.
ReplyDeleteActually, since they are dispersed over five continents at the best of times, touring is sporadic. They have a new recording coming out in August (Natural!) and a Milwaukee stop is being scheduled for September.
We might get a Wacos show at SFest, but don't hold your breath.
