The Violence Of Truth

One year ago today. Darth Cheney:

“...if [voters] make the wrong choice, then the danger is that we'll get hit again, and we'll be hit in a way that will be devastating.”

The. Wrong Choice.

Pegged the irony meter.

There's a statement he wishes he could flush down a Memory Hole, ain't it?

  1. So, win an election and you can do it right. Like Waco.

  2. Not even counting the last two (because the counting was... well let's just say I wouldn't want that math to be used by engineers in any of my buildings). The Democrats HAVE won elections, and Done it right.

    Clinton.

Or have you already forgotten what it was like when someone actually decreased government spending, improved government efficiency, used military force intelligently and avoided military deaths, balanced the budget, improved the economy, and developed respect worldwide.

Oh, AND got a humjob. Mustn't forget that.

Shit, there's been more people killed by friendly fire in Iraq than died in Waco. And if you feel really petulant, let's just wait to see how many are dead in the South, shall we?

  3. Damn proud of Waco, are you? Nice standard of success.

You forgot Mogadishu, perjury, impeachment, unchecked terrorism, recession, bombing the baby formula factory, rampant corporate fraud, Sandy Berglar stuffing secret documents down his pants. All great moments in Clinton history. What a legacy.

By the way, pube, government doesn't improve the economy, business/captialism and innovation does. Socialism/government is a drag on the economy.

You lost the last two presidentials and have been losing the congress steadily since '94 when republicans won control of both houses of Congress and balanced the budget and reformed welfare.

Your greatest achievement is the creation of the passive welfare class. The same people that had a 72 hour warning that a cat 5 hurricane was headed their way and sat on their asses waiting for government to save them. You were always there with their check, why weren't you there for them this time? All those buses in the parking lot. Criminal.

You are a loser in denial. Get used to losing, there's a lot more to come in your pathetic life.

Well, when compared to the trail of abysmal failures, corruption, and overall humanistic stink that is the record of the modern Republican Party, it was less hurtful to America.

    Glad you're keeping score.

Unchecked by the government, capitalism doens't necessarily improve the ecopnomy. It's driving factor is enriching the owners. All else revolves around that. without oversight, consumers and buystanders are subject to fraud, defective producs, harmful industrial processes, and dangerous working conditions.

    Econ 101.

Hey, I have my own business. I understand how business works, and how it relates to society; people and their actual lives. INcluding you.

You lost the last two presidentials and have been losing the congress steadily since '94 when republicans won control of both houses of Congress and balanced the budget and reformed welfare.

All of the news agencies who reviewed the Florida recount came to the conclusion that Gore won, by differing factors depending on assumptions they made. The SCOTUS intervened because they didn't want to take the chance of it not going their way. If it was a fair election, why be scared of accurate counting?

Ohio demonstrated anomalies that, when statistically analyzed, indicate near certainty of tampering, in Bush's favor. I realize that you likely distrust statistics, youknow, because it's math, but it's used in every industrial process by all the corporations you referenced above.

Because, as discussed above, the last two elections, rife with fraud, installed your precious "CEO President" who then gutted the emergency services intended for just this type of disaster; Mr. Accountability then sat on his ass with that simpering smirk while all of his staff, also on vacation, ignored impending disaster.

I realizer that trolls like you have no empathy; it's all too apparent that there are a large number of semi-evolved near-humans existing in America. So it's nearly useless to reiterate that many people in NO were poor. No car. No bus tickets. No way to afford hotels if they did leave; If the warnings were so dire, why wewre the populace supposed to take them serious, but not the federal response teams?

And that's not even getting into the gutting of the budget for actually, you know, STRENGTHENING the infrastructure to better resist storms. So you can have your $400 tax rebate. which you've now spent on gas.

You are a loser in denial. Get used to losing, there's a lot more to come in your pathetic life.

I know. I've got to deal with half- educated misanthropic trolls. Thanks for playing! Stop by Anytime!

  5. Affirmative action is the reason why things didn't work out well after the hurricane. Before jobs are given to minorities, women or the handicapped, or anyone with a working brain, we have to allow rich white boys who are grandsons of Senators, and/or college roommates of said grandsons associates grease their mealy palms first. sarcasm off.

  6. I like the way you throw unsubstaniated comments out as fact. In fact, all the news agencies that did a post-mortem on the FL vote found that Bush won FL and that the NAACP/SCLC complaints were baseless - that's a fact. I'm sure you can find some canard at one of your fellow liberal blogs that tries to make the case otherwise. The NYT and Washington Post would disagree.

If you are the captain of industry that you claim to be, you would know that most corporations worth their salt are owned by shareholders, many of whom are the employees. Shares are bought or distributed through profit sharing plans. You don't have a profit sharing plan for your kool aid stand? Econ 101, Mr. CEO. Socialism does not create jobs, capitalism does. Aren't you for jobs?

Statistics are numbers that can support any position. It's the votes that count, not statistical probabilities. People don't get elected on statistical probability. Only a bitter liberal would make your argument. You lost, get used to it. You've got more losing to come, get used to it.

Bush's bloated budgets have all provided more for public services than any other President - that's a fact. Louisiana is the greatest beneficiary of these funds - that's a fact. Some of these funds have been diverted by local libs for their pet projects - that's a fact. Further, environmentalists blocked the construction of water control gates that would have helped the current situation - that's a fact.

Affirmative action? Jeesh, norma. Affirmative action is what gave us the great minds at the City of New Orleans City Hall. The same AA wonders that ordered the buses that could have been used to transport thousands out of harms way to be parked in a flood zone.

Actually, I never claimed to be Henry Ford, , Nonnamuss. I, like so many others, am simply the owner of a small business. However, contrary to popular belief (as well as your 'fact'), it's not only big corporations that count:

    Small Businesses:
-provide approximately 75 percent of the net new jobs added to the economy.
-represent 99.7 percent of all employers.
-employ 50.1 percent of the private work force.
-provide 40.9 percent of private sales in the country.
-account for 39.1 percent of jobs in high technology sectors in 2001.
-account for 52 percent of private sector output in 1999.
-represent 97 percent of all U.S. exporters.

    (source: Small Business Adminstration)

I never said socialism created jobs, friend.

And for most privately held companies, corporate shares are NOT distributed by profit sharing, but through corporate ownership. I own 100% of the stock of my corporation. If I bring in a partner, I may give or sell him some stock; but it's not profit sharing.

And yes, I do have a profit sharing plan; it doesn't involve stock or ownership, it's merit-based bonuses, including sales incentives, as well as base salary.

    And that is a fact.

  8. Well, at least we agree on the significance of small business. It is the backbone of America.

If you don't profit share with your employees, you're an idiot. I don't care if you have only 1 employee or 100. (sorry, your authoritative manner led me to believe that you had a substantial going concern) Stock or cash, it doesn't matter. However, as you grow your shoeshine stand, stock will be better for you and your key employees.

  9. Hey, read a little closer Nonnamuss.

I said I DO profit share. It isn't stock, which since we're a service company, is worthless on its own, but only really a signifier of ownership. No inherent value, like a share of GM or something, since it's not publicly traded.

but I also treat my employees like real human beings, with lives and problems of their own, providing for flexibility in scheduling and personal time; as many opportunities for professional advancement and education as I can arrange; and at great relative expense we provide for health care and long term disability, neither of which is mandated for a business of this size.

However, I would promptly fire anyone who lied to me on his resume.
