That's right, the Payin the bills, doin the housework, SRT!
Off tha iPod: 9020 songs, 37.7 gigs of music...
And for chucks, I'm including the Norbizness Coolness Self Audit (NCSA)
Replacements- Red Red Wine. Had the fortune to see this band several times, including one drunken bout where Westerberg couldn't even stand for the encore. It was like seeing the Who with Moon. NCSA: 6.5
Psychedelic Furs - I don't want to be Your Shadow. NCSA: 5.5
XTC - Down in the Cockpit NCSA: 7.0
Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Scattered (Let's Think About Livin) NCSA: 7.0
Waco Brothers - No Heart. One of the best live bands I've ever seen. Members of the Mekons, Wreck, Jesus Jones, and KMFDM in a honky tonk pile up channeling Johnny Cash and Joe Strummer. NCSA: 8.5
Tom Waits - Picture in A Frame. It's Tom Waits. You either like him or you don't. I like him. NCSA: 8.5
R.E.M. - Low. Okay, they are now a superband. But apparently Clear Channel don't like 'em, because you can't hear 'em on the radio. This at least is one of their more atypical songs, one of my favorites off a pretty strong album. Not obscure but still pretty cool. NCSA: 5.0
Bob Mould - New #1. saw him on a solo show recently and he was good, and funny, and still relevant. C'mon - the guy who started Husker Du, and made the flying V guitar punk? NCSA: 7.2
The Cure - Icing Sugar. Well, ummm... a pretty cool band, but some loss of points because they're self consciously cool. And another point off for creating goth culture. NCSA:3.5
Pink Floyd - Is There Anybody Out There?. ouch. Is this band cool again yet? No? Well, the pedulum must swing, I guess. Big drag on the ratings. Not even from a cool album. NCSA: 3.0
The Knack - Seven days of Heaven. No! Wait! This is a recent album it's really pretty good power pop! sigh. Never recover from past crimes I guess. There goes the rating. NCSA: 2.0
MST 3K - Stay! Whew, saved by a song from Best Brains. Clowns in the Sky, indeed. NCSA: 5.5
Average of 5.7. Shows what a little Pink Floyd can do to you.
