Answering machine

I'm leaving this afternoon, and I need it.

Pat McCurdy's Opening Day Party; Rush cover band; Willy Porter. and Deep Purple if I've got the stomach for it.

No self coolness audit. sue me.

New version of iTunes. 14144 songs, 38.7 days of music.

Sonic Youth - The Unmade Bed. I love the Sonics. Saw them open for Neil Young at the Bradley Barn; they name checked Die Kreuzen before playing a note.

Robyn Hitchcock - The Dust. Robyn singing about death. what else is new?

Bob Mould - Black Sheets of Rain. one of my favorite bad mood songs.

Scott Miller - Rose of Sharon. A bit of remix wierdness from one of my faves. In a righteous world, where Aimee Mann would be a top 40 artist, Scott would be one of the most highly regarded musicians.

The Exploited - I Believe in Anarchy. This is off this great 6 CD punk comp I ran across.

Marillion - Fake Plastic Trees. Marillion covering a Radiohead song, in acoustic form. Interesting. but I never really cared for the original song; I'm not convinced by the remake.

Dogs Die In Hot Cars - Godhopping. excellent. XTC influenced new alternative band. Poppy and Hoppy. Think 'Life Begins At The Hop'

UB40 - Breakfast in Bed. UB40 is a fun live band. and Chrissie Hynde's voice is a great complement. Plus, a happy little reggae song is entriely appropriate for the mood.

Pinback - Boo. creepy little song, Kyle.

the eels - Souljacker. The eels are pretty cool... I hope I get the chance to see them sometime.

Bob Geldof - When I was Young. Bob does songs too! who'd a thunk it? Never managed the popularity in America that he had in england, but good stuff nonetheless.

Hey, that's eleven. Let's post this puppy, and get the f out of here. C-ya.
